Rondeau Provincial Park was formed in 1894 and is the second oldest park in Ontario. Beech, sassafras, sugar maple, shagbark hickory and tulip trees thrive in one of Canada’s largest Carolinian forests. Many animals thrive in this thick forest of towering oak and pine trees including the endangered prothonotary warbler and the eastern spiny softshell turtle. Rondeau has long been Chatham Kent county’s escape to the slower pace by the lake. There are just under 300 privately owned cottages in Rondeau and many of these back onto the beautiful beach on Lake Erie. Lake Erie offers great fishing and warm water swimming in the summer. After a great day on the beach or boat, why not have a fire on the beach and talk about your great day? If camping on one of the 262 camping sites in not your thing, you can still enjoy this beautiful relaxing woodsy lake setting in a vacation cottage rental right in Rondeau Provincial Park. If you are one of the few cottage owners in Rondeau and want to rent your cottage by the weekend, week or all summer, you can post your home absolutely free on Adventurepads.com If your cottage or vacation rental is in another location, you can always add that location if it’s not already there.
